 Do Opportunities Last Forever?

Hello, this is Jack Lookman. Welcome to our series, life lessons for teenagers - for a better tomorrow. Today's topic is:

Do opportunities last forever?

It is true that opportunity knocks once or maybe very few times. Can you make the best of these opportunities today? Are you endowed with a gift? Do you have money, intelligence or skills? Are you eloquent, young, famous or do you have good health? Do you have strength or experience? Whatever the case might be.

Do you put these to good use? Do you make hay while the sun shines? Do you procrastinate before you leverage your gift? Do you keep postponing your today till tomorrow? Do you always defer action till later? Should we stop pressurizing you? After all, you are still young and you have a lifetime to accomplish your deeds?

You are healthy, young, strong and very able; but if you refuse to prioritize your today over tomorrow; is there a promise of tomorrow or of a bright future? Can you learn from the life lessons of others? If the task is difficult to accomplish, can you leverage mentors and collaborators? Can you start with the little steps which could become many miles?

What if there is no tomorrow?

That business idea you cherish so much; yet do nothing with it but self-gratification. That good deed you wished to do, with which got lost in time and space. That light bulb moment that you were blessed with, which was blown away by winds of time. That visit to the vulnerable one, which you postponed until they were dead and gone. That spiritual activity you meant to accomplish, which got drowned in life's distractions. Maybe we could have a list of many, or you may even add much more.

Do opportunities last for a lifetime? Or will you make hay while the sun shines?

Thank you very much for your time.
