ARE YOU THANKFUL FOR WHAT YOU HAVE, OR SAD FOR WHAT YOU DON’T HAVE?

Life Lessons For Teenagers

I am sure you have heard the story of the young girl who was sad because she didn’t get a dress for Christmas like her friends, but later became grateful when she realised she had the gift of a complete, loving family which some of her friends didn’t. If not this one, I am sure you have heard of some other story of  teenagers, or even adults, wishing they had something and later realising the place of gratitude.

The truth is, in a world like ours, it is easier to count our loses than our wins. It is easier to notice what you don’t have than what you have; most times, because what we have has become regular in our eyes that we forget not everyone has them.

Right now, you may be torn between feeling grateful for what you already have and regretful about what you still haven't achieved. While it's normal to have lofty goals and aspirations, it's also crucial to pause and appreciate how full your present life is.

Are you appreciative of your family's concern, your encouraging friends who stand by you, and the possibilities that come your way? Even while these components aren't always flashy or ideal, recognising and cherishing them can give your path a sense of purpose.

Yearning for what you haven't received or accomplished can overshadow your current pleasures. Recall that the voyage holds equal importance to the final destination. Cherish the climb, the lessons discovered, and the progress made along the way rather than concentrating just on reaching the top.

Let thankfulness be your guide as you make your way through the maze that is puberty. You'll find that, the more you embrace the present and show gratitude for what you have, the more you have to be grateful for.

Thank you very much for your time.
